Meet C.B.

When someone asks where I’m from, I say Tallahassee. Not Leon County. Certainly not Leon County District 3. That’s because we’re really just one great community. Sure, we have City and County lines. But I can’t see them. And certainly, our successes aren’t because of them. And our failures don’t answer to them. We need leaders who understand that. Who act on that. People who know what it means to be “from Tallahassee.”

It gets easier to do the further we get from caring about votes and elections, and closer to caring about each other. Let’s get away from playing politics, and being politicians, and back to being neighbors. Partners. Friends. Coworkers. Family.

I’m C.B. Lorch, and I’m not a politician. I’m a father, a husband, a business owner, a friend and neighbor.

I’m just a guy from Tallahassee.

BORN AND RAISED

Being born and raised in Tallahassee, and raising my family here and owning a business here for over 20 years, I know about its past and care about its present and future.

Over the years I have served as a KCCI Community Catalyst, been involved with our local Chamber of Commerce, served as a School Board Member for the School of Arts and Sciences, assisted our amazing nonprofits, coaching T-Ball and robotics teams, and just helping neighbors in need.

My wife Michele and I met at Leon high school. We are raising our children here.

WHY?

“Why?” It’s most people’s first reaction when I tell them I’ve decided to run for County Commissioner. And I get it. Why would you want to put yourself out there in today’s world of politics. In this environment of turmoil, scrutiny, and partisanship? Those things are the exact reason why.

Now more than ever we need people who aren’t politicians to serve. People who aren’t already a part of the same divisiveness. People who see public service as just that and not a career or a way to get to a next candidacy.

I was born and raised in Tallahassee. I met my wife here. I started my business here. I’ve chosen to stay and raise my family here.  I’ve worked to serve my community. And I want to continue that service as a Leon County Commissioner.

LEADERS

Leon county needs leaders now more than ever. People who know how to build. How to ensure we can grow and create, all while staying true to who we are. A community of family, neighbors, and friends. A community of tradition, vision, and caring.

CHANGE

Our community needs to grow. And growth isn’t just physically growing. It’s about adapting and evolving, and being willing to improve and be better than ever. And that takes change for that to happen. And it’s the same for our government. Politician shouldn’t be a career choice. It’s about service.

How can we expect it to experience growth without change?  We need to grow, adapt, and change in order to truly thrive.

Help me make the County Commission accountable to US.

Leon county needs leaders now more than ever. People who know how to build bridges not walls. We can grow and create, but stay true to who we are. Help me restore a sense of community based family, neighbors, and friends. A community of tradition, vision, and caring.
